Antibacterial coating opens up new markets for SCR

SCR has added INSUL8ED to the company’s specialist range of exclusive paints.  It costs about the same as a good quality emulsion but due to the thermal barrier saves up to 25% of heat loss through walls and ceilings when compared to a standard emulsion.

INSUL8ED is effectively an anti-mould, anti-condensation, antibacterial emulsion in one. The active Biomaster ingredient in the paint inhibits bacterial growth such as Asp Niger (black mould), MRSA, E.Coli and other common bacteria for the life of the coating. 

The paint also incorporates microsphere technology which creates a thermal barrier within a room and has a thermal conductivity 5 times lower than a standard paint when dry. Surfaces will physically feel warmer once decorated even when the heating is off, which in turn will drastically reduce cold bridging around window reveals, resulting in condensation reductions of up to 90%. The paint can be used to help save energy costs and reduce carbon footprints, whilst offering a first class finish on surfaces.
 
INSUL8ED is now available at over 600 Travis Perkins branches and over 140 Brewers decorator’s merchants throughout the UK and is listed and available to order at any Jewsons store nationaly and is already being widely used by housing associations, schools and councils and private clients nationwide.
