Biomaster customer brings heat to the Dragon’s Den

An entrepreneur who pitched her curry business to BBC Two's Dragons' Den investors failed to receive an offer, but still has big plans for the future.

Rayeesa Asghar-Sandys, founder of the curry sauce brand ‘Spiced by Rayeesa’, pitched a new range of frozen sauces with a Biomaster protected lunch ‘grab bag’.

The ‘Spiced Girl’ Rayeesa faced some fiery questioning and, although she did not walk away with any offers of investment, received high praise from all of the Dragons.

She said later: “The response from the show has been phenomenal. We are taking the advice on board and are already actioning it. Things like going online as fast as we possibly can, ideally through a national online supermarket like Ocado, but there could be other smaller online outlets that would take us on.”

The award-winning Indian cookery school brand Rayeesa’s Kitchen was launched in June 2015 with the concept of bringing a totally fresh way of cooking great tasting Indian food, simply, and healthily.

Rayeesa’s sauces are frozen at the point of perfection and being completely fresh have no additives or preservatives while being low fat, low salt and no added sugar.

Rayeesa says: ”I was very grateful for the opportunity. I feel very honoured to have even had the opportunity to present my business to these incredibly successful people who I admire and one day I aspire to be in their shoes and perhaps be on one of those seats.”

Rayeesa’s sauces are also available in a reusable insulated ‘grab bag’ with an inner coated liner containing Biomaster antibacterial protection. The coating inhbits the growth of harmful bacteria that might otherwise transfer from food packaging.
