Unbreakable tableware now even more hygienic

Harfield Components Ltd. has launched its' new catalogue of polycarbonate tableware with Biomaster Protection in their entire antibacterial range.

The Stockport-based business is the UK’s leading manufacturer and distributor of virtually unbreakable and reusable polycarbonate tableware.

Harfield has been supplying plates, bowls, tumblers, jugs, trays, cutlery, beakers and cups to the public sector for over 50 years. The  antibacterial polycarbonate tableware range is the company’s response to a growing need in schools, nurseries, hospitals, nursing and care homes and other catering  environments with a choice to reduce the risk of bacterial contamination,  which can cause serious illness and infections.

Biomaster is a safe, effective and permanent antimicrobial additive which is added to the tableware during  manufacture and actively stops the growth of unwanted bacteria such as MRSA, Ecoli, Legionella and Campylobacter.

The Harfield antibacterial range incorporates a polycarbonate masterbatch developed by Biomaster, which give crystal clear results in the end moulding.  All products been tested to the latest ISO 22196:2011 to prove they reduce the growth of bacteria.

Harfield Components Marketing Manager Carol Moodie says: “Picking up an infection is one of the public’s main concerns about healthcare. Our Antibacterial range is a step in the right direction to working together with our community to ensure there is a managed environment that minimises the risk of infection.”
